UNO-R Advances Graduate Education and Research Through CHED NIR Engagement

The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) participated in the Workshop on the Preparation of the Graduate Program Manual of Operations (GPMO) and Research and Creative Works organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XVIII–Negros Island Region (NIR) on September 30, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City.
Representing Recoletos de Bacolod Graduate School (RBGS) were Dean Dennis V. Madrigal, Dr. Marisa B. Petalla, and Dr. Melona Guitche. The workshop focused on strengthening the capacity of higher education institutions and aligning graduate program policies and practices with quality assurance requirements under CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, s. 2019.
The sessions, led by Dr. Hyacinth Bangero and Dr. Joana Paula Biñas, highlighted institutional arrangements, minimum requirements, and the development of a common framework for the GPMO and policies on research and creative work.
Through this engagement, UNO-R continues to strengthen its graduate education systems, research policies, and quality assurance practices toward the continuous improvement of graduate programs.
